What Is CBD Oil?CBD, or Cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the cannabis (hemp) plant called a cannabinoid - compounds that interact with your endocannabinoid system. This cannabinoid is naturally benign and non-psychoactive - this means you do not get "high". In fact, CBD mitigates the effects of THC - the psychotropic compound that actually causes the feeling of being "high". Clinical studies have demonstrated CBD's ability to help with inflammation, sore joints and muscles, chronic pain and combat tumerogenesis. How Does CBD Oil Help With Anxiety?A 2011 clinical trial proved that cannabidiol may help with Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD). Researchers examined the results of CBD on individuals where anxiety affected public speaking. This substantiated a small study from 2010 that demonstrated cannabidiol's effects on the brain in individuals with anxiety disorders. Brain scans revealed that the blood flow was diverted away from regions of the brain linked to feeling anxiety. More specifically, the cannabinoids and terpenes from the cannabis plant or hemp plant are interacting with the cannabinoid receptors in your brain - the amygdala and hippocampus being the most significant regions tied to anxiety. Through inhibition of the neurons and receptors in the brain, you're being flooded with norepinephrine and cortisol - the two chemical compounds linked to stress. Cannabidiol modulates these receptors causing disinhibition of the neurons while redirecting the blood flow away from the emotional epicenters of the brain. This also protects the brain cells from dying from over-excitation from inhibition - a process called excitotoxicity. How Do I Use CBD Hemp Oil Or CBD Extract?CBD oil, also called full spectrum hemp oil, is the extracted cannabinoids and terpenes from the raw hemp or cannabis plant. The extracted oil is most beneficial when it contains all of those essential compounds. There is a common misconception that 99.99% pure CBD is quality product, but that is called CBD-isolate - a purified form of oil that leaves pure CBD crystals. You don't get the entire spectrum of therapeutic benefits. Be wary when searching for therapeutic oils. Contact a company's customer service to discover whether they use full spectrum hemp oil or isolate in their products. Full spectrum's entire family of cannabinoids and terpenes create what is called the entourage effect - the synergistic harmonious benefits from essential compounds. Lastly, ask about the hemp oil's origin and the process for the oils and products. Always choose an organically sourced company that produces lab results for their products such as here. Ideally, always start small when dosing... ...you can always work your way up from your starting point. A tincture is the current standard although, there are alternative forms of administration such as lozenges, chocolates, gummies and more. THC and CBD, also known as active pharmaceutical compounds in the pharma sector, are the active substances (phyto cannabinoids), which are also known by the names APIs (active pharmaceutical compound). These compounds can be derived naturally from cannabis indica or sativa plants, or synthesized in a laboratory. THC is psychoactive while CBD is non-psychoactive. Both compounds are potent and have powerful therapeutic effects on the body and mind. Many people have begun to use cannabis for treatment of cancer. But any chemical compounds when used in isolation can cause side effects. Synthetic medicines (western medicines) typically have only handful chemical compounds in any given formulation. These few compounds cannot counter the side effects of the individual compounds. Whereas, a medicinal plant has hundreds of active compounds.
